Friday, May 30th

Dear Cardinal Famiy,
(Please read after the letter. There are more important things for you to know!)

As this school year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the last three years with deep gratitude and a full heart. While I cannot say these years unfolded the way I expected, I can say with certainty that I have loved getting to know you, working alongside you, and walking this journey together.

You have challenged me in profound ways and inspired me in even greater ones. I can say without hesitation that I have never worked with a more devoted, generous, and passionate group of people. The love you have for your students and for JPII is evident in countless ways—in the early mornings, the late nights, the quiet gestures of kindness, and the big, bold acts of faith. I’ve seen Jesus alive on this campus because of you.

My only hope is that in some small way, I made a difference in your lives and in the lives of our students. I know I have not been perfect. I am aware that I’ve made mistakes, and I am certain that I’ve disappointed people along the way. That’s part of being human. But I pray that through it all, I have expressed clearly how deeply I care about this school, about each of you, and about our students. More than anything, I hope I’ve shown that I care about bringing Jesus to every part of this campus.

As I prepare for my next chapter, please know that I take with me all that I’ve learned from you and the memories we’ve shared. I hope we won’t be strangers. I’d love to come back to visit, catch up at a game, and continue to cheer you on - because I will always be cheering for you. And if you ever find yourself at Ursuline, you better let me know so I can see you!

Thank you for the privilege of serving with you. I will be forever grateful.

With love and gratitude,

Kayla Brown (and Happy FriYAY!)

Fingerprinting
New TCCBED fingerprinting requirement.
You would have received an Authorization Code from Mark Crawford via email. Please contact him if you did not receive one.

Thank you for your dedication to JPII’s mission and to the students and families we serve. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment, the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops has accepted the recommendation of the Accreditation Commission to require fingerprinting for all school employees. This requirement is now part of TCCB-ED accreditation compliance and must be completed before the start of the 2025–2026 school year.

Additionally, proposed Education Savings Account (ESA) legislation includes fingerprinting requirements that align with the National Child Protection Act (NCPA). Compliance with these procedures is necessary for schools to be eligible to receive students utilizing ESA funds.

Scheduling an Appointment
  • Go to: https://www.identogo.com/
  • Click the blue “Get Fingerprinted” button in the upper right corner.
  • Select “Texas” and click “Go”.
  • Click “Digital Fingerprinting”.
  • Enter Service Code (11F26K) and click “Go”.
  • Click “Schedule or Manage Appointment”.
  • Complete the Essential Info section and click “Next”.
  • Enter Organization ID (13851) and click “Next”.
  • Continue through the remaining enrollment steps. Select “Yes” when asked about Authorization Code under Personal Questions. Select “Driver’s License issued by a State or outlying possession of the U.S.” under Documents.
  • Search for an IdentoGo location by zip code and select a preferred location (Spring Creek location is closest to campus) and click “Next”.
  • Enter your Authorization Code (above) and click “Apply Coupon”, then click “Next”.
  • Select a date and time and click “Submit”.
Day of Appointment
  • Be sure to bring your driver’s license and Authorization Code (above).
  • If you lose or forget your coupon code you will have to pay out-of-pocket (credit card only, no cash) and submit for reimbursement.
  • It is recommended that you arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time to sign in.
Once completed, your fingerprint records will be securely submitted to both the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the FBI. Results will be stored in the DPS Clearinghouse, where a very limited number of authorized school personnel will have access. You will also be automatically "subscribed" in the system, which means your record will be monitored for any future updates.

It is important to note:
  • Criminal history information is strictly confidential and only accessible to authorized users on secure school computers. Misuse of the system by an authorized user is a criminal offense.
  • Schools must unsubscribe from the Clearinghouse if an employee leaves the organization.
  • All background check data is subject to state and federal audits.
We understand this is an added step to your professional responsibilities and sincerely appreciate your cooperation. Thank you for your continued dedication to our mission and to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

Note: Your Authorization Code is unique to you and should not be given to anyone else to use.

If you have been fingerprinted in the past for another school or organization you will still be required to fingerprint for JPII.

Please see Mark Crawford if you have any questions or concerns.

Professional Development Hours
HERE is the form we will use to turn in your Professional Development hours. Many of you have kept track of this in your Professional Portfolio (thank you!), so it should be easy to copy and paste into the form above that will go to Mark Crawford. I can sign them and then make sure Mark gets them! Please read the directions closely before filling this out. You must make a copy of it.
