Red Crest Award! (from Debra and Julie)
Good Afternoon Teachers,

As we look forward to recognizing our students at the end of the school year, we have a special opportunity for you to recommend a student for an award - the Red Crest Award.

Each JPII teacher will have the opportunity to select ONE student from EACH academic or fine arts course they teach during the school year to nominate for this award.  For example, if a teacher teaches US History and World History, that teacher would be able to nominate one student for each course, not each section of each course they teach.  This award is a good way to recognize a student who might not otherwise be recognized for their improvements and efforts.

Teachers should have the student for at least one semester during the current school year.  A student may be the recipient of more than one Red Crest Award from different teachers.

Each student should be nominated on individual forms.  The stated guidelines specifically focus on students who improve themselves, the class environment and take their learning, from where it is, to the next level.  You will have the opportunity to nominate them for the following reasons.  Please note that the student will receive the reasons you select for them on their award.  Students will receive these awards at the Senior and Academic Awards Ceremonies in May.

To be a recipient of this award, a student:
  • has shown improvement throughout the course
  • takes initiative to solve problems rather than waiting for solutions
  • uses opportunities to improve understanding
  • looks for areas to use knowledge gained
  • looks for ways to assist others academically
  • adds to the academic environment of others students in class
Please CLICK HERE to nominate your student(s).

Please remember to fill out one form for each student you nominate.

The DEADLINE to make your nominations is Friday, April 26.
