Athletic Director Message
As we enter the latter part of the fall season and start looking forward to our winter sports, I want to inform you of the policy for our student athletes to visit our trainers, Ms. Soto and Mr. Hernandez.
For our student athletes, the training room is open before school, after school and during Cardinal Break only.
Student athletes are aware of this! Please know that our trainers are respectful of your instructional time and will never ask a student athlete to come see them during a class period.
If you have a question regarding this policy, or in general, feel free to call Ms. Soto at extension 5198, or Mr. Hernandez at extension 5160.

Tips from Your Learning Specialists
Should college students who do not demonstrate college readiness in math (or reading/writing) enroll in remedial classes or college-level courses with support? This crosses my mind every single day. I often hear this from colleagues: “How will they make it in college?” But what should high schools and colleges actually do? Remediation is often needed, but we cannot dispute its challenges and disadvantages. It can be difficult to find the balance between remediation and exposure to college-preparatory content.
This month’s segment is a link to a conversation about remedial courses in college. It sums up the gist of the findings, but also includes links to the full study.
The answer is, it depends.
